Hi all

Got up this morning to the sound of chattering of teeth from the piggies (2 boars). Nothing new, they have little tiffs every now and again (which I assume is normal?) where they chase each other, have a chatter then get on with their lives.

But we noticed today one of them has a little (and only a little) dried blood on his nose. Now I'm far from expert, but I was led to believe that piggie fights led to ripped ears and cuts, whereas this looks more like he has run into something (which he often does), presumably while being chased.

We gave them some hay, they ate it then chattered at each other, ran about, chattered. So we put one in the run. They both sat and looked sad and after a while they stood at the bars squeaking at each other. So we put them in the run but with a barrier in the middle, they then stared at each other through the bars and made the 'yay food is here' squeak.

Removed the barrier - one walks up to the other and the later sprints off, turns and starts chattering. The first piggie made no attempt to bite or claw, the second just ran off. Then the second walked back over and rubbed noses against the first, then sprinted off and chattered.

Neither is attacking the other. One just runs away from the other then walks back over. It's like the second piggie is scared of the first, but forgets about it after 10 seconds and comes back.

They are now each on the run in an igloo each sat quietly. We have put classic FM on for them too!

Umm, suggestions? If we leave them together they seem to be fighting, if we seperate them they whine that they are apart. One seems to be bullying the other but without actually doing anything. We cleaned them out yesterday, so I assume there is a power struggle for the 'new' tank going on.

Although they are doing this they clearly still love each other. You only need to separate if blood has been drawn. I do not know if the blood was from a fight or accident but keep an eye out. Having classical music on is a nice idea and I hope it will help to relax them.
