i don't know how many of you saw my previous thread-

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31146

last weekend i went out and bought VAPET chewstoppa spray
it smells exactly like that stuff you use to shop you chewing your nail varnish, so i thought it'd be perfect...

but it's not worked, at all, and i've already used up the whole bottle =[
at first it was okay, they turned their noses up at it, but it seems they're determined not to let it stop them! they just find somewhere else to chew, so i end up spraying the entire hutch, and then as soon as it's dry they chew again!
i'm constantly getting up and spraying the hutch, and it really is driving me mad. i bought them some sticks to chew as well and they've completely ignored them!

does anyone have any other ideas, something i can spray or rub onto the wood which will last a long time and properly make them go off it? i'm so distraught their lovely home is being trashed, and i wanted to sell it in a couple of months to get them C&C; now i can't because the ramp, doors, frame and even the walls are covered in chew marks and have the top layer of wood stripped off.

hi i posted in your other thread and I had the same **** with Smokey & Bandit but not my other two funnily enough.Basically i brought one of each of all the chew toys they had in the shop and it was trial and error. One thing that did work though was like a bar shaped guinea pig chew treat but maybe they are bored some piggies are just destructive little piggies aren't they maybe have a look online for more chewing sprays?

I would definitely buy a snack shack for them. It is really hard so great for their teeth and is made of alfalfa so tasty too. Hopefully this will preserve your hutch

I got some of this after reading the post and sprayed it all over my new hutch. Seems to be working so far but don't know how bothered they would have been anyway...

G'pigs can be very stubborn!

where are these from?

boris, i've got them so many chew toys it's ridiculous! i really need something that's guaranteed to stop them chewing rather than buying them things there's a big chance they won't be bothered about.

I've seen other posts where people have made a mix of mustard mixed with vinegar to paint on the walls. Have you tried that as it wouldn't smell good and wouldn't taste good if they tried it either.

^ does it matter what sort of each you use? and this would be covering a lot of the hutch, it wouldn't make them unhappy being in it would it?
