Spoilt Piggies,new Shed & First C&c Cage!

Ive been saving for my piggies new shed for months! ive decided on a 6x8 shed and a 2x10 C&c with a 2x2 loft :) i have about £750 budget they will be getting a heater up there for winter etc only thing is the shed dont have a opening window so ill be getting my partner to cut along the top of the door to have like a little opening door so i can have open in the summer at night and nothing can get in :) also lining the floor with lino and getting some storage for the shed. they will also be getting lots of new toys. etc I'm excited! this will be to house all 6 of my piggies :)

1 question are c&c's easy to clean?
 
hi,congratulations on getting the funds together for a piggie mansion,C andC cages are very easy to clean,f10 solution or some other safe pet cleaner.we have a few members that have heated sheds,insulating the shed is a good idea for colder weather.would love to see some pictures when you are up and running .:nod:
 
Change of plan decided not to go ahead with the C&c for 1 it won't fit in the shed I wanted so I'm going with the fee roam in the shed they will have much more space that way. I'm going with a 10x6 and a big hide house I'm going to split the shed so it will by a 7 1/2 by 6ft hopefully that will be enough room for 6 Sows. I've drawn out a plan where things are going to go they will still have there pen joined on and that's 6x13 ft :)

So I've drawn up a enclosure idea I'm going to boarder around a few corners and put some grass in and add a few trixie hideaways also they will have like a hutch in there enclosure also add some bedding in there that don't soak up the rain. They will have about 32 1/2 foot of space to run I also have found a shed in my price rage with a opening window! Deliverd and put up. Been doing the base the last couple of days my partners been helping me his struggling Atm with back problems so it's taking a little longer but it's getting there :)

Your piggies will be spoilt rotten! My herd is currently at 16 and have exactly the same setup in my 6x10 shed - even 16 piggies have lots of running around space in there so your 6 will be in heaven!

You'll have to resist the urge to increase your herd size when they're in there. I know - I failed! :roll:
 
Sounds fantastic. They really will be spoiled. I'm not sure I could ever sleep if my piggies were outside, but it looks like a great home for them.

They were in a 6x5 shed before But it started leaking and wanted a new one anyway I had 19 before but I had to rehome some due to health reasons so I'm now left with 6 so won't be getting anymore :) X
 
base is down and shed is coming on Saturday 19th :D so excited the shed will have a opening window each side! :D
 
To keep the cold & damp my oh has lined the shed roof & walls of it with thermal wrap, it's quite cheap then you just put hardboard, plywood or MDF over it & its toaster warm. I can't give you a price because they come in assorted length & widths. What will you do in the summer?

That's brilliant, they need some light & air, the only thing you may have to put in there is a fan. Angled so it goes over the piggys heads. I have to use one in my bungalow & ice blocks. It gets so hot in here.
You have to put lots of photos in when you finished it. It sounds like a piggy palace. You'll make us all jealous. Lol
 
so excited! today has dragged and most likely will tomorrow my girls were watching from the other shed and see me digging I'm so excited for them to move in they will most likely be moving in middle of march time. as will be busy buying accessories for the shed and doing the partition and also its my daughters 2nd birthday. there was a fungal outbreak a few months ago all piggies now cleared but I will be bathing them in some anti fungal shampoo before they move into the new shed. I'm very paranoid since the fungal outbreak so will be putting a 25liter pet disinfectant on order. they all have new towels each my piggy first aid box has also expanded ( Will not replace a vet visit ) should be up by Saturday evening they have not given me a time that its arriving yet. ive also got some litter trays and 4 hay racks that will attach to she shed wall. I'm pleased that I managed to get a shed with opening windows. but I also have another problem we have a fence parting off the dog and guinea pig area I have to make the fence taller as my dog can jump the 4ft fence and although he wont be able to get in the shed or the pen I worrie that he will give them a heart attack if he was to try to get to them.
 
so still haven't got the shed :( they messaged me yesterday evening to say his work mate called in sick so they said they would message me yesterday everning and they dident. no message this morning I'm so fed up its getting close to summer and I cant do there pen until the sheds up. so looking like I might be looking for another shed. I'm so peed off :(
 
Hopefully it won't be a big delay. I know it's frustrating when you have a plan and just want to get on with it, but perhaps it will only be delayed by a few days or a week or so x
 
Hope you haven't paid for it, otherwise if it doesn't turn up your be waiting ages for a refund. If it was me I'd get straight on the phone. You want a delivery date ASAP. I have a very short fuse.

no I dident pay them any money but ive got it now and its up! they come at about 4pm today I'm very pleased photos coming soon :D

Wow, sounds amazing, lucky piggies . I've just changed to c and c cages, love them, so easy to clean. Chuffed to bits!
 
I would have liked c&c cages but for 1 it would cost to much to do both and 2 it would give them less running space then it would to fee roam :)
 
Brilliant! I'm battling with shed problems myself atm so feel your pain :))

What size it yours? :)
