Morning guys. I Currently have 3 12 week old boars. They are a pair and single living side by side in 4x6 and 3x6 ft pens. We get some mild rumbletrutting through the bars from the 2 who fell out but they seem happy. My question is would I be able to neuter all 3, split them into 3 large pens and introduce sows? Would they have a chance of living side by side as 3 groups? I'm very afraid of adding more boars incase they end up scrapping and I'm also worried that my existing pair may fall out as the grow up.i thought if I have a boar in each group they have a chance of being happy long term. If this is an option how many and what age sows would be advisable. I would like to rescue if possible. 😊

I meant creating in the title, sorry. I'm not planning anything for right now but looking at possible options for the future (:

Yes that can work. A sow/boar pairing depends on the boar being accepted by the sow. Rescue dating would be the best way once again, after the six week post op wait.

that’s what i did and it worked great!

But now, on another thread, you want to put all 3 pairs together?
yes, the cages aren’t as large as id like them to be, and i think if i could make it work, they’d be much happier with the extra space. it was mainly an idea, not an actual plan (:

Are you saying they will have a bigger combined space if you put them all together, than they have now?

Thanks for your reply, I hope this will work out that way we don't risk boar fall outs and they can all still live together but apart. X

No, in 3 different pens. So 3 boars in 3 pens with a sow each? They'll be situated in pens next to each other but separated with a mesh wall which my husband will make. What's there now is temporary.
I'll attach a photo of set up with the 2 current pens. Maddie a just cleaning them out, I was thinking to remove the hutch and create another 3 x 6 pen to mirror the other one. I hope this makes sense. 😊

When making them just make sure the boys can’t get into the other two houses. So make sure the dividers are high enough.

I will, thank you. Fingers crossed for piggy paradise. They're complex little creatures! X
