my guinea pig keeps getting sperm Rods stuck, with my other pig I’ve never seen them at all but his good at cleaning himself where as the other one doesn’t seem to properly clean his bits at all then gets sperm rods stuck all the time which I’m happy to remove as I can tell straight away when there’s something wrong with him and usually 9/10 it’s that making him cry and after it’s remove he is back to his happy self. Is there a reason on why he keeps getting them stuck, should I be worried, I’ve now got to the point where I think I will have to check him every day or so. Is there anything I can do to help him or is he going to always be like this, is it normal ?

Sperm rods

Hello. I’ve had 8 boars in total and I think I’ve only ever seen one sperm rod. I’m not sure if it means there is a problem or not with your boy. If you are worried or he seems uncomfortable I’d get him checked over by a vet to give you peace of mind.
