Hi.

Currently caring for two guinea pigs, one who's been dealing with painful hips.

He's been taking pain medication which has really helped, but at some point he has spat out the medicine and it's crystallised just beneath his mouth.

I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to remove it. It's very solid like glue and I really don't want to put the poor guy through unnecessary discomfort.

From the description it sounds rather like boar glue - dried semen (from himself or his companion). If I’m right, boar glue lives up to its name and it’s there to stay unless you can cut it out of his fur. If it’s boar glue it is probably best to leave it to grow out and drop off on its own.

That's brilliant. Thank you so much for your help!
