Hi I'm desperate to create a bigger home for my 2 boars. They just arent getting along and I feel it the temporary cage is part of the problem - its quite small. I've seen lots of pictures of C&C set ups I'd love to make them a 2x4 with a small loft. I thought it'd be straight forward finding the materials but I cant get a decent price on grids off or correx. I've loked online ebay etc and tried local signwriters...... £35 for a 8'x4' correx sheet! when I cost it all up its seems I'd be better off buying a cage kit from the C&C guinea pig cage .co.uk @ £80 ish
thing is they only supply black wire - I'm after white.
Anyone made one recently and willing share where they got the parts from - I've spent 2 whole days calling places & feeling so frustrated. My little boys are fighting so much :( They need more space

I paid about 20 for a very large correx sheet from ebay, think it was 4mm, i know the thicker it is the more pricey. And i used 'Interlocking 9 Easy Cube Storage Cupboard Shoe Rack Shelf Book Clothes Toys Ward' from ebay £16 free delivery, also cheap cable ties to reinforce it.

The corex can come from Wicks but this is only 2mm. You have to go online, where they sell the 4mm corex. But I don't think they will sell online unless you get the the grids as well. The Wicks corex is fine it's just more bendable. They is stuff for sale in one of the forums.

Before i had the correx i used a large wipeable tablecloth underneath the fleeces.

Correx Sheet 2400 x 1200mm 8x4 Corrugated Plastic White or Black 2mm C&C Cage. Just looked and realised i got 2mm correx. It was 15£ free delivery.

We managed to get it in our car but if you can get them to deliver it, all the better

Thanks everyone ! I've just looked at the wick site but cant find any correx for sale - what department would it be in?

I used flooring vinyl instead of correx on mine. It's worked well - I just don't have the little rim you get from correx.

I don't live in the UK so can't really help with sourcing correx, but just wanted to say that if your boars are grumpy in a small cage, even a 2 x 4 C&C is a bit on the small side for 2 boars.
If at all possible you could try and extend it to 2 x 5 to give them a greater chance of a successful long term friendship.
It might seem big, but 2 separate cages will take up more space in the long run.

Thanks. you're so right I think space has a lot to do with it. I dont have room for a 2x5  but I'm also planning to include a 2x2 loft which might help

I'm still searching :soz:

I cant find the grid panels storage cubes anywhere. There are some on ebay but they seem very overpriced. I was going to order a Starter kit from Grendle yesterday - there website and ebay store has disappeared perhaps they've gone bust? I can find the plastic panels connecting system but figure I wont see much of the GPs if I used these. Any suggestions welcome x

I struggled years ago to do this. Couldn't find grids that were the right size unless they were £50! In the end I called a local sign shop (think I called about three before I got one to help) and paid £20 for a full sheet of 8mm correx.

I folded it with sides and taped the sides with Wickes all weather tape. Made the sides high enough that I didn't need the grids. The finished cage was about 65 x 175 cm. my two boys loved it! They had it for 3 years before I got bored and wanted something different. Not bad for £26 haha.

That's a great idea! Elgifu321
Problem is none of my local sign shops use correx anymore:soz:
I think I'm going to have to pay silly amounts of shipping from online stores to get what I need - oh well they're worth it:luv:
