Dear everyone,
I have a question about my guinea pig Simba (2 years old). I can hear her breath sometimes when she sniffles. I already went to the vet (she is a guinea pig specialist) and she checked everything but couldn't find anything wrong. Today she had a really weird sound while breathing, it sounded like there was some slime stuck. I could also hear it very clearly with a stethoscope (I'm a med student for humans). When she sneezed once the sound was gone. She hasn't sneezed again since then. Nothing else changed in her behavior, she still eats a lot and is running and jumping around. I'm worried that it might be a pneumonia (even though she has no other symptoms). Has anyone seen this before? Can guinea pigs have allergies? I changed her box yesterday, so meaby the breathing is connected to the change. I use sawdust and lots of hay for het box.
