I have what I call a tiny cage for my one boar (please dont say I need another one, I'm trying to persuade my parents), he lives in here:

Dont worry, he has more toys

but I want him to live in that cage with grass available to play and run in all the time so I was thinking of keeping that cage but keeping it in this run:

Or this one

I will close the hutch at nighttime, though

I know I posted this yesterday but only one person responded -.-

Hello. Your current hutch looks like its a two storey? That seems ok to me. Especially if there's going to be plenty of run time. The first run looks fab. I'd love that myself! Second smaller own doesn't look like it has a roof or can I just not see it? I would not have a run without a roof on if you can be there the whole time. We have foxes in our garden often and they would take any opportunity to grab one of my boys. Sometimes birds and squirrels may attack also.

I cant get a run before my house is rebuilt unless me and my friend have a chat >:D and the cage is only 1x5

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Just to say, you will get responses but as there is only (on most occasions) 15 forum members, most which run rescues, replies can be slow as threads get pushed up and bumped down esp. with health and illness threads being the first that get a response too. I'd also suggest just posting one thread on a topic that way you won't be getting several responses in different threads on the same topic. :)

The hutch looks lovely and spacious, but if you are going to keep the run on grass I’d suggest one which you can move around otherwise it might end up sparse after it has been munched on. A walk in run would work on concrete or a patio as you could put hay down.

thankyou, I'm so sorry, I didn't know that about the only 15 members! D: I hope I didn't offend anyone, please forgive me

Hehehe! No problems just to let you know its a small forum, i know some forums have 100+ on every evening and it can be a little fustrating if you've just joined and cant understand why noones replying :) I just didnt want you thinking noone was bothered about your threads, just takes a while to get through them :))

I personally think that hutch is more than suitable for at least 3 piggies, let alone 1.

the cage looks a good size from the picture, as for the run. If you are leaving them able to use the run as and when they like during the day I would make sure it has a roof. Night time isn't the only time you get predators after your piggy and I wouldn't want the likes of a magpie or cat being able to get access

Lol don't worry! It's great that you are thinking ahead and wanting the best for your piggies anyway. There are some fab knowledgable and friendly people on here that have helped me loads.

A good point tho. My outdoor run is movable as the grass just gets worn away if you leave it in the same place too long. Instead of crop circles I get crop squares from where it's been!

I was going to also say, I would choose a separate run so you can put it on grass when it is nice. With Guinea pigs because they are low to the ground they can get respiratory infections and things if they go on wet ground.

That hutch looks really nice! :O I would keep that one. :D

As for the run, the first one is probably the best. It's high, so it can stop unwanted visitors jumping on top.

purple blobs J.W. if you had something you could adapt for the time being wilst you sort stuff out for the pig :) may be a short term solution
