Hi all, I was just wondering why my piggy's have a few scratches and sores like small very tin lumps , i phoned the vet she told me to bath them in / with salt water , I think they might be doing it to each other . I got my first piggy about 5 to 6 months ago but he was lonely I could tell, The shop where i bought him said he should not of been sold as one but a pair they said to get another one which i did and they gave me a free hutch for him as they had to get to know each other ect . It took a while but they have been together now for over 4 months if not a bit more , But i can see when i pick the younger one up the older one doesn't like me stroking him . The younger one wont look at me he hides his face in my arm lol . I am just a bit worried that they could be fighting a bit at night . they live outside so but i have not heard anything I just want them to get along with each other , as they did before . The other thing is they don't really do much the spend a lot of time in there bed area of the hutch but it has been cold wet and windy here . Anyone has any ideas on what i should do please :)

Could you please post pictures or have them seen by a piggy savvy vet. sores in the face are much more likely the beginning of a fungal issue than the result of a fight when you can't see any other signs of tension and acute disagreement. Fungal infections (not necessarily ringworm) are much more prevalent in warm, humid weather.

Sorry just got your message , they are covered up now as they are outside ie gone to bed lol, The sores / scratches are not on the face they are on they back of both of them i will post some pics tomorrow in the morning . But i might also take them back to the vet at pets at home as that's where i got them let them have a look also .

they look like scratches and i think they have scratched them themselves also so there is a sort of spot now , as i said i will post some pics in the morning . thanks for the advice

It sounds very much like the beginning of fungal/ringworm, which is painfully itchy, so it often manifests by bloody scratches. You can find pictures in the link I have given you. Please carefully read it. We have got a piggy vet locator on the top bar.
