Sometimes a grunt when weeing / pooing. Related to bleeding or just a coincidence?

Elizabeth has been vet checked as she has had two episodes of passing fresh blood (not mixed in with urine) in December and January. The vet fully examined her and did an ultrasound but couldn’t find anything. Thankfully and touch wood she hasn’t had any of these bleeding episodes since the last one in early January. Both times, she was acting completely normal.

Occasionally she will make a one off ‘grunt’ sound when she wees or poos. She has done this for over a year and the vet couldn’t find anything wrong when I had her checked.

Should I be concerned or could it just be one of those things? I often wonder if it’s just that weeing or pooing is a little uncomfortable for her like it is for us humans when we’re a little constipated? Or could it be related to the bleeding episodes that she had or is it a coincidence? She’s acting completely normal otherwise

Hi Claire. As she’s already been checked over recently and given a clean bill of health I’d just weigh her daily for a few days to see if she’s stable. Obviously if she starts to do it more often or if she passes blood again then get her seen.

Thank you. I have been weighing her and she’s stable. Even though she could do with losing a few grams, I’d rather she do it healthily and not through illness. But I shall keep a close eye on her 🙂 x
