Hi, one of my 3 year old girls has been producing a little bit of this color pee for a few days. They do get red pepper every day and then alternate other veggies so some days may be tomato or carrot etc. So i know sometimes those veg can cause the pee to change color as well as just oxidising in the air.

Also the last pic is of a weird substance i found in the last few days too, they had a newspaper pellet bedding so thought it was just some of that either digested or peed on. It was soft and seemed to almost have some poop in it? Definitely didnt seem like any stones ive seen or heard about online again with no obvious blood anywhere.

They are behaving otherwise normally. Would you be concerned and get a vet visit from seeing this? Or is it normal stuff and just monitor?

Hi, I’m not an expert so obviously take their advice over mine. If I ever notice unusual looking urine I put each pig in a separate container lined with plain un-dyed kitchen paper (or empty if the container is white/clear). I sit them there and remove any poos (as they may dye the wee) until they wee so that I can get the clearest view possible of whatever is causing the colour. It can be easy to be stressed by coloured urine but it is often something in the environment causing the discolouration. (I am not saying that is what it is in your case)
I hope you work out what it is soon.

Thanks I may try this tomorrow. I'm pretty sure i know which girl it is just from where the pees were located. But it would be handy to see if the pee comes out that color instantly or if its only when it dries and oxidises

I sit with mine on a white towel. As long as it comes out clear/slightly milky it’s fine.

Some antibiotics can cause a urine colour change.

If you’re worried a vet appointment is always a good idea.

Good luck I hope it’s just oxidisation.

Hi

Any orangey/rusty shades (yours are very mild, meaning that either the pee is still rather fresh or rather diluted) are normal with drying pee that comes out clear of the body but oxidises the more it is exposed to the air. this is nothing to worry about. The intensity depends on how dilute the urine is and how long the pee has been in direct contact with air.

Any blood is pinkish and dries into a mid-brown tone.
