Some help please re colder weather

My two girls have an outdoor hutch. They have a fantastic cover that fits over it, which is basically a wooden cover, lined with 2in thick polysterene. Previously I always filled their igloo up with hay and put that in the bedroom. I have now bought them a snuggle safe, but am worried that if they have that underneath, the igloo above them and the cover they are going to get too hot, and the igloo will get condensation and then they will get damp.

So do you thing the snuggle safe and the cover will be enough and they don't need the igloo.
 
why nott try a cardboard box, on its side?a bit bigger than an igloo? i think the air will circulate easier, and plastic does tend to sweat more, this is only my advice, i am sure you will get more soon x
 
I like the cardboard box idea, but you could also put the snuggle safe somewhere different in the hutch, so they can lay on that OR snuggle into the hay. :)
 
I've just ordered a snuggle safe & wondered where I would put it too. I have a very similar set up to you. Be interesting to find out what other ppl suggest :)
 
My three boys have a snuggle safe - I just fill the bedroom with plenty of hay and bury the snuggle safe in it. They always wake up nice and toasty in the morning! :)
 
Do you think it would be a bad idea to put it under a plastic iglo? That was my original plan :)

I think putting it under the igloo would cause too much condensation and would be too warm and sweaty for them. If you did want to use something I also think the cardboard box is a good idea :)
 
I could replace the iglo with a cardboard box at night then? I'm in the process of making a "hut" out of an old shoe box as we speak :)
 
That sounds like a great idea! I'm sure they'll have good fun nibbling at the 'hut' too! Lol
 
The box is a good idea thank you. To be honest their sleeping compartment is quite small as it is the sleeping end of a 3ft hutch, so probably only about 18 ins square, which I quite like as it keeps them snuggled up
