And no phone means no broadband :td: I dunno who, an engineer once described the exchange I'm connected to as "an absolute mess you don't want to let the newer guys near at all" so, I have my suspicions as to who broke what.

I currently have my phone as a hot-spot so I could get a specific game to run but it's as well I rarely use data because otherwise I'd blow through it in 5 minutes. As it is, letting the PC boot the game and keeping it on for 15 minutes occasionally is as far as I dare go.

Roll on the fixes, right?

Hopefully tomorrow. I'm not getting charged for the next couple of days anyway, not since it's a confirmed external fault (and not Sky's fault either).

She did ask if I'd seen any engineers about and I was like...well, I can't see the road from the house? It only occurred to me after I got off the phone that I can't see the road, but I can see the local mast if I look out the right window. Oops.

Update - line from the mast to the house is fine. He's not said it, but that tells me it's the exchange ( 😱 imagine that). He's taking his lunch, but he's also apologised because he's from Liverpool. Apparently there's double digit numbers of Liverpool Openreach engineers in Rochdale today...there's a joke somewhere in there, lol.

I'm thankful I'm on a digital exchange with 70meg download speeds. 👍

I have great speeds when nobody lets the eejit near the important stuff, but the exchange is just a mess. I was half expecting it to be someone at the local mast did it, but clearly not.

He asked if I'd seen anyone on the masts and I had to point out that would've meant looking out the window. I'm not opening my blinds in this weather, no chance.

Tbh I think some wires got crossed (yes, pun intended) because a) since when does Openreach respond that fast? and b) when I said it'd been good til around 9, he thought I meant 9 last night.
