Hello. Percy and Pepper have had soft poops for most of October. Not runny just softer than usual and odd shapes and sizes too. I’ve cut veggies out twice. Their poops go back to normal and as soon as I introduce veg again they go soft again. They are fine in themselves. They lose weight while they are not getting veg. But put it back on once I start the veg again. Any advice? They are currently not having veg again today (Saturday) or tomorrow (Sunday). Just hay and pellets. Should I try a probiotic? If so what one is good. Many thanks.

I give mine Pro-C. They have a pinch on their forage every day. When they aren't very well, I syringe water and Pro-C.

Thank you. That’s brilliant. Hope it helps their tummies to settle down.

Pepper’s have firmed up this evening. But Percy’s are still an odd shape and soft. So no veg tomorrow either. I’ll start the Pro C tomorrow once I’ve been to the shops. To be honest they don’t seem to mind no veggies lol. That makes me feel a lot better.

So, I sprinkled a bit on a piece of cucumber for them both. They didn’t mind the taste and ate it fine. Do I just give it to them once a day? The instructions say put it in their water or put it on 300g of food which obviously they don’t get. Thanks.

I used fibreplex last week on one of my cavies after having soft poo,it worked well.firmed the poops in 2 days.

That’s great. If the Pro c doesn’t work I’ll see if the vets have fiberplex. Thank you
