Hi all! Today one of my piggies started to have soft wet poops, not diarrhea, I'm think she might have some discomfort when pooping too? She does this quiet squeak/small squeal but only like half the time tho. Also I have recenctly started changing their hay on the 2nd to Timothy hay from meadow hay. I know out of the two pigs she does tend to have more issues when I give her new stuff.
So I've so far I've taken all Timothy hay out for now to hopefully help with it getting back to I will also weigh her every day just to keep tabs until she's better. But the real question is should I take her off veg for 24 hours? Or see if reverting back to the old hay works?
If any of it don't work within a day or two then I will take her to the vet.

Second cut is quite a leafy one and while absolutely fine to feed, it may cause a bit of an upset if they are used to less rich versions of hay.

I would go back to the meadow hay if you know she is ok with it. Nothing wrong with feeding meadow - it’s the type of hay I primarily use (with some orchard mixed hay)

I would go back to a less rich hay (like meadow hay) and then just mix in the richer cut, starting with smaller percentages and scaling it up over the course of several days or sticking with a mix of hays.

Generally it is better to it introduce new, richer hays or other foods gradually so the gut microbiome can adjust and has time to scale up the specialist digestive bacteria for the job. The same also goes with fresh grass. ;)
