Hi!

Pellets should at the most make only 5% of the daily food intake (1 tablespoon or 1/8 cup max. per piggy per day) but they are the part of the diet that can be easily left out as your piggy will eat more hay - which is much better for its long term health and a longer life than overfeeding on pellets low on fibre and high on filler products. Good quality hay contains enough vitamin C to prevent scurvy - it is after all the reason why guinea pigs have never had the need to make their own vitamin C in the first place.

However, in order to firm up the poos, we strongly recommend to take your piggy off any fresh food until 48 hours after the poos have normalised again. If cannot see an noticeable improvement within 24 hours or if the problem persists, please see a vet. Please reintroduce veg slowly, ideally starting with a small portion of fresh herbs.
