Soft barley straw

Hi everyone,
Just a query. I have a texel boar and his bedding always gets stuck in his private area.
I have tried shavings and fleece but no good and to much washing. I have now found soft barley straw which is softer than some hays. It’s working great. I put straw at the bottom and pile loads of hay on top. He doesn’t eat it which is good and eats hay instead. Some people are against using this. But if it’s soft it won’t cause hay poke.

One thing I will say is if you can't use it as a pillow or roll on it without it being uncomfortable, then I would discourage you from using it for piggies.

I personally wouldn’t use any straw at all. It has no nutritional value and even if it feels softish, it is harsh and can cause hay pokes.
