Hi! I just bathed my piggies for the first time and I think I got a little soap in one of their eyes by accident! She keeps blinking her one eye a lot. Will she wash it out herself? I feel so bad it must sting 😔

if she seems sore you may need to speak to a vet
do be aware that piggies do not need routinely bathing, they keep themselves clean and don’t need to be bathed. They should only have a bath for medical reasons. If they have a very dirty bottom or grease gland then a bum bath (not the whole body) and using plain water as a first option is best.

:agr: Why did you bath her? Was she grubby?

I was watching LA Guinea Pig Rescue and they said to wash them every 4 months and theyre probably about 6-7 months old and came from a pet store. I probably wont wash them again for a long time bc they're shorthaired but idk I just felt like knowing where they came from I should probably wash them at least once💀

Shes fine now it seems like she just washed it out herself and yes thank u.

They definitely don’t need washing every four months. It’s not good for their skin to do so, and wholly unnecessary. They keep themselves clean enough and washing is only needed if they’re really grubby. And when you do wash (you shouldn’t need to) then you don’t wash their face. Water and soap shouldn’t come anywhere near their faces. If their bum is dirty then, as above, a bum bath with soap (sometimes even just plain water) is enough.
