KAZ

When I adopted Bridget she was very shy and would always run and hide whenever I came anywhere near her. As she was nearly six I did wonder if her behaviour would ever change. With alot of perseverance and the fact that she has been indoors all winter she has become very tame indeed and loves her cuddles even wheeking whenever she is put back into the cage, as much as to say "hey i am not ready to go back yet"!

This saturday though when I came back from a friends house the dog greeted me and when I stooped to say "hello and how are you then mummys good boy" bridget came hurtling out of her house wheeking at the top of her voice, she didn't react until she heard my voice which she obviously recognised....now how sweet is that?! It was as if she was saying "yay mummys home"!

Aw - that's too cute! Mine only wheek at me if they think there is any chance of food!

Same as that ::) only when theres something in it for them!

Thats really cute Kaz, very lucky :)

That's gorgeous! jasmine is doing a lot of swittering now and it seems to be when she's out of the cage and on our laps. whether she's telling Belle (who is sometimes out and sometimes not) that she's ok or whether she's just happy to be cuddled I'm not sure. She weaks too and again I think this is because she's talking to Belle. It's too cute. Bet you're so proud.

awwwwwwww that's sooooooo sweeeeeeet :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
She obviously loves you and was very excited to hear your voice :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
I bet you gave her cuddles and a treat for doing that :-* :-* :-*

Thanks for all your replies...Yes I do feel very lucky. I still cannot believe she did that, my husband said that if he hadn't witnessed it for himself he would have found it hard to believe that a guinea pig would greet you!

Yes Glynis I ran straight out into the garden and picked her several very large dandelion leaves!

Awwwww that's so sweet

My piggie Toffee used to look at me and i could see so much trust there.

;D

Awww - what a lovely thing to happen. Mine just wheeeeek if there is food on the go. But I still love them to bits. :smitten:

That's fantastic! Lucky you.

My pigs shout at the top of their lungs when I open the back door. They expect me to cut grass whenever I open it. We had the estate agent around a couple of weeks ago and she kept using the back door and was wondering what that noise was. Probably thought she set off an alarm because they were screaming at the top of their lungs!
