Aaagh! I feel so bad.
Recently, i went on holidays to england for 3 days,
my guinea guys, had their bedding changed only a few days before, i dont spot clean ( if that's what its called?) since they poop in the corners, my arms being horrendously short, i cant reach.anything!

well..
you wouldnt believe this.
there entire cage is just covered in poop, i cant even see their litter.
I feel so bad, and that i just cant take care of them, but i love them so much and it was just a simple mistake..?

is this really bad for me to forget.. or is it just a simple mistake..

I'm hopefully going to buy a scooper soon so i can start spot cleaning.

It is amazing how much they can produce! Sounds like you are onto it. I spot clean most days now that I have 3.

I went on holiday for 3 days as well, I cleaned the cage the day before and I agree the amount of pop is shocking! But yet my guinea pigs did theirs in their hammock  so I had to spend 4 hours washing all 3 hammocks! It was such a fun 4 hours!

I went away overnight once and the pigs had spread all of their hay all over the cage, pooped all over it, peed all over it and the fleece had to be thrown away (was just a cheap one luckily!):lol!: I think they did it out of spite because they were left behind haha!

I agree that for such little guys they certainly do produce a huge amount of poop.
But I also have to say that I am slightly worried that you went away for 3 days and didn't arrange for anyone to clean your piggies cage while you ewre gone?
Hopefully I misunderstood, or at least someone was around to feed them and replenish hay and pellets, etc.
But if not, I personally do think it's too long to leave them unchecked.
As you already saw a lot can happen in 3 days (and not just lots of poop).

The amount of poop they produce is epic :yikes:

You sweep them up and, an hour later, they have produced another mountain :))

Every single time I completely clean their cage I come back with their litter box and they have already pooped every where! I is like they feel the need to make me mad!

My friend came over, she doesnt like guinea pigs or rodent related animals! I asked her to care for them, she didnt clean their cage though because i think she was too afraid to put her hand near them to open the ramp! But I'm really reassured by everyone else having familiar issues, thank you so much!

My grandmother calls them vermin and them had too stay in their cage in the hayloft in a barn. I know about rodent phobias. And I can't understand who couldn't love them. I stopped bringing them with me too their farm and my friend watches them.

I use litter & a bit of hay over it, then give them fresh hay in their food bowl.
Can you get some disposable gloves ? The best way to spot clean when using litter is to pick the soiled areas of litter by hand . You won't pick up all the poops - but you can clean the areas they've wee'd

Ive picked some up now, and a little shovel to help, i spot cleaned today and cleaned their litter, they love it and hopefully i can start handling them again soon, if they clean themselves up.

My piggies poop in a litter tray. They kept weeing in their run which was set up on the carpet in my room at the time so we put a puppy pad down and put them on it after they went to the toilet (because it was ruining the carpet). They they quickly learnt to do their business on the puppy pad because they have a very strong scent so it was easy for them to recognise. In the litter tray, we fold up a puppy pad and cover it in their sawdust and they go in their to poop now. It took some time but it's definitely worth it :)
