Cute! I would put more bedding in personally, he might get up more if he can dig and burrow outside his little house

But Jayne please could you put wood shaving in the bottom on the cage. Also the cotton buds could and will cause digestion issues. You can use torn up toilet paper for bedding for his little sleeping quarters. You can get some really fun toys like bendy wooden bridges from the pet stock which he will enjoy playing on and chewing.
I’m offering advice with the best intentions of you and your hamster as I know you’ve had lots of heartbreak recently and I know how much your pets mean to you x
