I am using Boxo paper bedding. Jimmy has a large pen and I am going through this stuff like crazy. I spot clean several times a day. Since Jimmy had his bladder stone scare I am fastidious about keeping his pen clean and maybe going a little overboard. I bought some puppy pads, but I read that they can hurt the Guinea pig if he eats it. There is a warning on the package to not let the puppy consume the pad. So I haven't used them. Would the pads go under towels? Would that work to keep things dry?
I hear about fleece often, I would love to eliminate the paper bedding, would fleece be a substitute and any particular kind of fleece?
Sorry for all the questions, I just dont like the bedding I am using but read so many conflicting things.

Ultimately, I want to find the healthiest bedding.

Thank you

Fleece with puppy pads underneath would work. Some people use towels but I don’t know how well they would dry. If they stayed wet then the fleece also wouldn’t be dry on top. You could also get some washable puppy pads.

As long as the fleece wicks (draws liquid through to the underneath) then it should be okay to use. I think the common one here is anti-pill or polar.

Thanks!
So the puppy pads are never actually exposed? Just worried if he every tried to eat it. He is a bit of a nose digger.

Yep! Puppy pads under fleece would work perfectly.

Thanks!

Yes. I’d recommend the washable puppy pads. I use them for the hay tray. Unfortunately all four like to chew on the puppy pads so I try not to use them.
