So I've had my piggy a little while now but I'm still trying to figure out what on earth he likes and what he doesn't. He really is confusing me. I'll try and describe and see if you can help me.

- He has a big soft bed that I brought him and when he jumps in it, he starts rolling round, jumping (which LOOKS like popcorning), giving really long drawn out rumbles and vibrating. If I stroke him whilst he's in there he does this even more. Whenever he is on something soft, this is what he does. I've read mixed things about these reactions.

- When giving him his veggies, I place the veg on his shelf and he obviously gets very excited. I stroke him whilst he's munching away and he gives another long purring noise which I'm thinking means he's happy. I hope that's the case. There's no vibration this time though.

- Next thing is when I'm stroking him. He lays down flat under my hand when I start stroking him (I think it's called pancaking) and not long after starts making little squeaky noises. But he doesn't try to move away or anything, just seems happy stretched out. But then I've read that the squeaky noises can mean he's whining.

I'm really trying to figure out my little piggy but there's so many different opinions! The one that is really confusing me is the bed noise, because I thought he liked it as he popcorns and rolls around all over the place! But then I heard that the long rumbling noise and vibrating is a bad thing...

Can anyone help?

Two of my boys do the pancaking & squeaky noises when I'm stroking their backs & they also don't try to get away. This means your piggy loves the back strokes. Also seems to love his vegies (as most piggies do) & is telling you he is happy you have given them. I think he loves his bed as well which is why he is popcorning & rolling around in it. I think you have one very happy piggy & need not worry about him.

We have one called Jericho who walks around his cage doing like a very low wheek, then if he wants attention he shouts, if you get him out he does a cosntant little noise like he's talking to you, he's also a biter sadly, he wasn't handled before we got him. He's a chatty little man though.

Storm starts from a low wheek to a loud one, when you hold you he sounds like he's moaning at you, not sure if he is and it gets worse if you touch him certain area's, he's like stroppy kid to be honest.

Cesaro hmm well what can I say about him lol, he chunters a way through the bars to the girls who are in a cage next to his (hopefully when he's neutered bonding should go well!) and I've noticed he does it when your doing his veg. Oh and as I was typing this he started chuntering again :D

They are the noisy one's in the bungalow lol.

So glad to hear he's a happy piggy :)

Just have to share. Tonight he worked out his treat ball (although I just fill it with his normal food), very proud and also decided that having a drink and wetting the paper before chewing on it was an interesting game!

The pancaking and 'twittering' is a happy sound. He likes the pats. Some pigs are really loud at this- Sundae is so loud that my husband gets annoyed and turns up the tv when she is getting pats! The other two sound like happiness/excitement. You're doing good! :)
