So on Saturday I tried bonding my two male Guinea pigs. Rodney who's 7 months and Ronnie who I'm not certain of his age but was told he's 1, but not sure exact. I put them to together as they were both on their own and thought it would be nice if they got on... I put them both in my bedroom, they had a little sniff then both ran into their floor time bed thing together, they snuggled for about 40 minutes, but Rodney was licking Ronnie a lot as though he really liked him, there was a little bit of rumbling from Ronnie but that was it. I thought they'd paired up straight away which I found a little strange as I've seen they usually chase a little at start to astablish dominance. I gave them some lettuce and they seemed to bonding great. But as soon as they got out of the bed they started getting really dominant towards one another, had a slight fight ( neither got hurt as I stopped them straight away, I picked Rodney up and their was some seriously loud teeth chattering coming from them both and they seemed so freaked out. Does anyone know if it's a good idea to try bonding them in the future? Bearing in mind I'm thinking it may be because the reason we got Rodney was becausehe was being my bullied by the other piggies, and Ronnie got separated from the two she was with a month or so ago as shed been bitten by fudge.. Any help would be great

Hi! Please let them sort it out and don't interrupt unless they really get into a full blown scuffle. You always need to wait until they have had their first nap together, as the crucial point is often how the cope with the presence of another new piggy when waking up.

The were basically sleeping with eachother for about half hour, then they had a scuffle and weren't separating so I placed a pillow between them and they were teethchatering like nothing I've heard before, it was terrible, luckily only a very small peace of ronnies hair was pulled out by Rodney but no cuts
