Has anyone used one, you heat it in the microwave and it gives out low heat for 10 hours, I have bought one for my two who are kept out in the shed, hoping it will keep them snuggly in the winter xx

Hi!

I bought one last winter for my girls. They love it, it keeps them nice and toasty, the like to plonk their butts on it and snuggle up! I would bury it slightly under some hay so they aren't directly sitting on it though, also gives some protection from them going to the toilet on it! Although you may be lucky and have tidy guineas! Definitely worth the money I paid for it. Only downside is the fleece can get a bit manky for the above reason! But I just shoved mine in the wash and it came out looking better. I'm sure your two piggies will love you for getting it for them! xx

Alternatively you can wrap the snuggle safe in a tea towel whilst the fleece is being washed :)

I use snugglesafes for my little semi feral cat, who has a kennel outside (she won't come indoors). In winter I change it 3 times a day for her, so she always has warmth.

I resorted to making some more fleece covers for it, as my mum discovered I kept nicking her towels for the guineas! She wasn't impressed.

They are great, my piggies have them for colder days/nights even though they're indoors.
I bought extra covers from a member on here so always have clean ones to hand. They are better than the original ones and in bright colours to match the fleece :(|)
Be cautious if you take the manufactured covers off though to heat as it apparently can damage the filling...they do get very very hot so make sure if you wrap them in something else, it is secure so as the piggies won't get scalded.
Vet UK do them at a good price :))

My Nigel was addicted to his snugglesafe, he used to have it under his little corner tent and each night he would wait while I removed the cold one and put the nice warm one in and would leap on it before I had even put it down properly.

They are a godsend in cold weather even for indoor pigs.

My boys love the Snugglesafe heatpads. They're climbing on as I put them in, and once they're snuggled in place they don't budge.

The fleece covers don't last well with repeated washing and I replace these every year.

Great! Good reviews all round then! I popped it in last night well under the hay as I have been quite a bit in too keep them warm, Just using it at night at the min but will use in the day when it gets cold, We have also brought them in the shed as well so better for them and me when feeding/cleaning etc xx

I bought one in the sales but havent used it yet, will wait til it gets colder..

How long do I put it in the microwave for?

It depends on the wattage of your microwave. Inside the leaflet and on the actual snugglesafe it has a little chart telling you the length of time according to the wattage! :)

I had one for my puppy, but she has grown up now so doensn't need it so I will be using it with my piggies!

What tempratures do you start to use them?

My pigs have on each, when it gets below 10 celcius i put them in the mic for 7 minutes - i can usually feel a bit of warmth in them when i see them in the morning.
When i first introduced them to my pigs they were running around popcorning and then slept on them
