It won't melt it will it?
Have lined the hutch with a Lino type/waterproof table cloth thingy from dunelm, covered with newspaper and hay.
Will be using a snugglesafe when it gets colder which I guess will be under the hay but on top of the Lino/newspaper.
Paranoid it may melt the Lino?

I would say actual lino sounds a better bet than the tablecloth, just because going on the usual purpose, lino is usually on the floor so is tougher. With the tablecloth, I know the type you mean, and I imagine the thicker/tougher ones wouldn't melt. It's not going to get massively hot though, or else you'd end up with melted pigs (!) but as I don't have any experience (but am curious myself as to using lino) I'm sure there's someone here who might

Those lino tablecloths are made from pvc and polyester. PVC would have to be exposed to temperatures of well over 100 degrees celsius before it melted.. Polyester can ignite and melt easier though, high temps on a tumble drier can cause polyester clothes to melt.. the snugglesafe reaches 50 degrees.. it would probably be fine but I'd put a towel under it before you sit it on the lino just to be careful..
