been using Aubiose in the cage and also in the litter trays in my piggies' fleece lined run. Thinking of giving snowflake a try as it Looks a little softer for their cage than Aubiose. But Is snowflake suitable to use in litter trays? How absorbent is it and how much should you put down in cage / litter trays to be effective?

Hi, I use snowflake, I get a 20kg bale for £10 :) I use it in the boys who are on fleece's litter tray and use it as the main bedding for my other 2 boys, it's very absorbant, I have t change the litter tray every 2-3 days (but I have a skinny pig and he's wees and poops a lot!) I can leave it about 5 days in the other boys 2x4 C&C before I need to change it. You need quite a deep layer for it to be absorbant and not smell, I prob put about 2 inches in. A 20kg bail will last me 5-6 weeks in a 2x4 and in a litter tray. Hope this helps!

Lol well I used to do change it every day or every other day, but I've made a bigger one out of correx now and annoyingly they have started weeing on the fleece more argh! Let me know how you get on if you try it!

I bought some snowflake today. On the plus side it's a whole £1 cheaper for a 20kg bag than Aubiose, on the negative side the bag is much taller than the Aubiose one and I can't get it in my cupboard! Oh bugger!

That's why I have a second 10x8 shed for my snowflake, hay, dry food sacks x 2 and all my spare food bowls/bottles etc. :tu:

My shed is not elements or mouse proof to keep that in there. Piggies and all the stuff has to go in utility room. Guess I will be decanting snowflake into tubs then!

My shed isn't weather proof, the mice cant get in as they can't chew through metal. ;)
