Anyone used it?

Bought some a few days ago from Pets at Home and I have to say so far am very impressed....three days in and no smell 8). I normally use Aubiose but even a couple of days in the cage starts to smell, the same even with Carefresh. But so far with snowflake antibacterial wood shavings I have not noticed any smell. I am guessing it is the antibacterial in the wood shavings, as I have used plain wood shavings before. But whatever it is I am liking it. :)). Will let you know how the rest of the week goes. I am not a fan of wood shavings but if it keeps up like this it will become my new bedding of choice. drool

Are they the one in the clear and blue packaging?
If they are how much did you pay for the bale?

Yeah - has a green antilbacterial sticker on.

Was £9.50 per bale - which I think is a lot as I've seen you can get normal snowflake wood shavings for much cheaper. But if it's the antibacterial that is helping with the smell then it's worth the extra £££ :))

Hi Guys - delighted you are happy with the Snowflake Anti-Bacterial (we are the company mascots for the company that makes them) - the one available in PAH is an extra large whilst the one in Home Bargains is our large bale without the added anti-bacterial agent.

it would be great if you could review our product on our website - www.plevinproducts.co.uk - everybody who reviews has the change to win our competitions

Hope all is well

Hi, quick update. The smell did start to creap in a day or so later after I started this thread but it still was an improvement on the Aubiose for smell. So for now I am going to stick with it but not sure long term as wood shavings can never be '100%' free of dust.

Woody & Snowy what is the purpose of adding the anitbacterial from your perspective?

I have just bought this for my hamsters because of the antibacterial properties as I am swaping from carefresh as I found after two days it smells awful and it costs so much to use.

Will keep you posted on results:)

Pets at Home have stopped stocking this. Anyone know where else sells it?

Thanks

Is it home bargains? I'm. Ot sure, but I know they sell it at pet supermarket on street shop. I got caught short and before back home, I nipped into this pet shop in Coventry and picked up the snowflake stuff and I'm using the remainder of the bale. It wasn't the anti bac stuff but not bad for wood shavings. I do like auboise though.
