Hi this is my first ever thread but
Just over a week ago much to my heartbreak on of my guinea pigs sadly passed away.
I have now just rescued a 4month old guinea pig to give my other piggie company and got him on Monday. I have been slightly concerned as he was beginning to sneeze and after my traumatic and heartbreaking experience before I am really worried. I have spoken to the lady who I rescued him from and she said it could have been because of the hay I used, she said to keep an eye on him and see how he goes. I have now changed my hay completely and He is not sneezing as much but still is. I called my vets and the only time they can talk to me is on Friday. I am just at a loss because I don’t know what else I can do. Could he just be stressed because he’s in a completely new environment? Could it be the hay? Do I just wait and see?
sorry for all the Questions I’m just worried

There can be several reasons for sneezing, some of which are nothing to worry about - few sneezes a day is normal, if they eat too fast they can sneeze, if hay is too dusty they will sneeze.
If the sneezing is excessive, more than five times a day and in bursts of constant sneezing for a period, then that is more concerning.
Weigh him regularly, keep an eye on him and get him a vet check. Its always recommended that new piggies are vet checked in any event
