Hey everyone,

i just got a 5 month old guinea pig and she usually sneezes (?) but it’s not really a sneeze. She puffs air out of her nose every time I’m around her although I don’t usually hear it when she’s in her cage. I’ve also heard her sneeze before which sounds louder and is more aggressive but these seem to be her just blowing air out of her nose.
I'm not sure if it’s serious enough to take her to the vet and she doesn’t seem to have a runny nose or have eye boogies or any other symptoms. Her nose seems a little wet on the inside but I believe that is normal?
Any advice?

Puffing air from the nose can be a dominance behaviour and can be a sign of that they are getting cross and angry.
It could also be irritation in the nose from dust

If you are worried, then do speak to a vet
