Do you guys feel like having fleece in the cage would be less smellier than wood shavings?

I personally find that fleece is scentless, it might get a bit smelly eventually but if you keep up with regular cleans then it's fine :)

great, i do paper shavings now, that bedding thing they sell in the stores i dont know what is called lol but it has a powerful smell when i put it in the cage and the whole room smells weird. My wife is not happy lol i have to keep her happy so we can keep the piggies!

I'm thinking os switching over to fleece

I find it never smells. I have 3 sows in one cage and I'm always surprised when I lift the fleece and see how much pee is on the puppy pads underneath! I change it on average every 4 days.

Oh is it care fresh? I think I saw a pic you posted and looked a bit like that?

Fleece is certainly cheaper and more efficient, the washing can be a bore but if you have piggies and a wife to keep happy... :P :))

My two sows do most of their wees in their hay trays which have hemp based bedding and loads of hay. Their fleece half of the cage, which is just fleece liners is used for relaxation!

I also use fleece and newspapers underneath. I have no smell at all into the room (living room) even when I cannot clean the cage for two days. Consider that my nose is sensitive and I can't stand any bad odour.
I put the fleece outside the balcony every day during piggies' floor time, when I remove also the few wet papers. You can use fleece in different ways, depending on the size of your cage and your creativity.
Also the hay has its own smell, someone does not like it...

I find the fleece a lot less smelly and so much easier to keep clean :D

They say Happy Wife Happy Life. Keep her sweet and you can keep piggies. I'm sure you could keep them anyway. I expect she loves them already. You would miss their cute little (!?) wheaks when you walk back in the door!

wait, i didnt mean i love my guinea pigs more than my wife lolol. i meant i love the guinea pigs more than my wife loves them.
