Smaller Cage During Day Ok?

my 2 piggies live in a bigger cage upstairs in my sons room; however now because it's summer it gets very hour there and I'm constantly running the AC on a timer during the day so I have a smaller cage in the much cooler living room which I know is too small to live in but they would only be in it for approx 7 hours during very hot days. Was wondering if anyone would see this as a problem

Hi, obviously a small cage for that long isn't great but as its only temporary and in the best interest of the piggies not over heating then I think that's fine

The cage is 27 inches by 17 inches much smaller than their normal cage and as I say it's only to keep them cool on very hot days. They are females

a smaller cage sounds better than heatstroke

do you have anything you could use to make a run around it aswell? like c&c grids cable tied together so it's foldable? it is very small.
