Hi, I've just found a small lump near my piggies bottom. Any advice as to what it is would be appreciated.
It just to the right of of her bottom and fairly small (half the size of a poo, sorry to be gross). There is nothing to be seen on the skin and it feels like it is in the flesh rather than attached to a bone.
I'm wondering if it is a chat but haven't really a clue. If it is I'm worried that may mean surgery which is very risky. Very worries. Any advice would be great without worrying me more please.

Any lump needs a hands on check by a vet. There is a variety of things a lump could be and without a hands on check it’s impossible to know what it could be.
Do make a vet appointment and keep us posted. I hope everything is ok

Hi and welcome

Is it sitting loosely in the skin or is it firmly attached to the body?

We can unfortunately not tell you what you are dealing with but unless the lump is is suddenly growing extremely fast and tripling in size in a matter of hours, it is perfectly OK to see a vet at your own convenience during regular opening hours. Many lumps come up suddenly but then stop growing for a while; the vast majority are harmless sebacous cysts or fatty lumps.

It feels fairly loosely attached, so in the flesh as it can move around to a certain extent.
That's good to know, thank you. I will monitor it closely and call the vet on Monday. (Typical it's on a weekend that I find it).
If it is a cyst then what type of thing am I looking at please - can they be treated or does it always involve surgery?

Thank you

If it is feeling loose, it is sitting in the skin usually; the ones in the flesh you cannot jiggle. The good news is that it is much more likely to be harmless cyst if it is sitting loose - but we cannot diagnose sit unseen; especially not lumps.

See a vet any time that fits into your own schedule over the next two weeks; especially if there are no changes.
