Hi everyone, Eddie has calcium deposits in almost every wee, and he is already on a very low calcium diet (red/green leaf lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber, grass, cilantro, and the occasional carrot or apple) anyways, I found a spot of calcium in his cage that looked thicker than normal, it still felt soft and powdery with no solid bits but I wanted to know it it was sludge.85D3DAE2-B4D5-45C8-AC0D-6DF08BD9A73C.webpalso, if it is sludge, how would I get it to go away? If not, how can I tell if it is sludge for the future? sorry it’s so long.
Thanks!😊

I don’t know if it’s sludge. All I know is that excess calcium is excreted in their urine. As long as it’s not gritty then you’re okay. I don’t think you can every get rid of it completely as you can’t completely cut it out of their diet. Do you filter the water?

We are looking into getting a water filter, but most are expensive in Canada so we want to be sure it works, we thought a brita filter might work, does anyone have experience with brita water filters?
Thanks 😊

Yea brita filters work. I've had mine for about 5 years, and there is no limescale build up in the bottom where it filters through, but loads in the top where hard water gets poured in.
