Has anyone observed a noticeable difference in the speed at which guineas chew their food? Mark my rescue guinea has a good munch on him but the speed with which he does it is SO much slower than my own pig. From observing them, I think he chews about 4 times slower than my own pig. Could slow chewing be an indication of teeth trouble? If it can be, I will ask them to check his teeth as he is due to go in on Friday anyway.

PS. He is recovering from a bladder stone so his energy levels might not be quite what they're meant to be. I would be interested to know if a slowed chew is normal for a recovering pig.

Some guinea pigs nibble delicately, others just stuff their face...

However, it won't hurt at all to have his teeth checked to make sure that there is no trouble brewing there!
