Does anyone on here have the skyline cage, and are they any good, I am worried about them being flimsy. Also i currently have a Ferplast cage as the large opening at the front of the cage makes it easier for me and my back. Can the skyline do that and enable the the front panel to open up for easy access rather then a tiny door which i hate.

would love to see any pictures of the cage and layout if you have one before i decide to buy

I recommend the Skyline Maxi XXL as a good 1.2m cage for guinea pigs. I know owners who have had these cages for over 5 years without problem. At it's current sale price of £29.99 inc p&p it's a great buy. If you're getting it for 2 boys I would recommend you get a pair of large log bridges (Size L: 50 x 30 cm =) @ £4.99 each to uses as houses either side by side at one end or at opposite ends of the cage. Thanks but does anyone know if they can have the large opening front like the ferplast, my boys already have seperate beds even though one prefers to sleep in a house and the other prefers to be in the corner at the other end and not keen on houses etc

You might manage it if you reinforce the other three corners with cable ties.May be a bit flimsy otherwise

is just annoying that only the ferplast as a large opening, and everything else has stupid small doors which are no use, not sure how anyone manages with them. would make cleaning harder and don't want to have to twist my back, was going to get the ferplast but now has gone up in price

This one has a small opening door at front but a large opening door on top. For cleaning it is easier just to lift the top off the base. When I started my rescue I did have a problem when stacking cages because of the smal door but did manage. In normal use you have to top door too x

i will just have to keep looking around or unless i can come up with a way of making it have a large opening as it is flat pack, I don't agree with the doors on the top as don't feel it is right to approach them from above, and one of my boys can be skittish at time so that would not be open, and due to back issues i have to limit the bending and lifiting, which is why always used the ferplast as limits that and easy to clean. I really can't stand the small doors, and don't understand they put them on cages. I was considering joining 2 100cm cages but not sure if have the space for that idea yet

Another option is this 1m square cage which has a 3 panel door at front plus large opening door at top for cleaning. This is good value. I know several people who think it's great because of the extra space, 1 sq m instead of the recommended minimum of 0.72 sq m. Its just £59 inc. free postage.99
