I'm looking for a hutch at the moment, i like the double story hutches as there's loads online to buy. But i was wondering if you buy a double story hutch does it still have to be 4ft x 2ft? As there would be two story's. As there's not many that size!

I'm pretty sure only the first level is counted when talking about size and any other levels are just counted as excess space.

http://www.rabbithutchwarehouse.co.uk/hutches.php They have a good selection of hutches. If you scroll down there's a two tier Maisonette hutch that has the main living area above and an open space below. It's also very reasonably priced!

EDIT: Just realised that they're only 18 inch wide, the 24 inch ones are pricier...

You definitely need at least 4x2 - though I swear by my 5x2 tiered hutch for my pairs - the extra space if you can afford it would be great for your pigs! :)

but you know the base it has no flooring, is there anything we could use? Also will they be able to use the ramp?
As i've found this too http://www.bitsforpets.com/4ft-hutch-p-4.html

The first hutch would be great for the Summer on the grass, but with that open bottom it's really not practical all year round. The ramp also takes up valuable floor space, given it's only an 4ft by 2ft. They should be able to use the ramp but you might have to guinea pig proof it with a little rail and carpet so they can grip easier.

The second hutch is 4ft long but not 2ft wide, it's a bit under so probably best avoided in favour of something a little larger.

Honestly if I were you I'd go for a single story 5ft by 2ft or 6ft by 2ft.
