I feel FAT most of the time ? I've take exercise to the best I can afford and have dropped a dress size but I'm still feel FAT, and UNATTRACTIVE. I think it stems from when I was constantly made feel fat due to me having an apparent FAT face and being all round undanty and than I was compared to somone with the perfect body and I felt like carp.

Does anyone else have body esteem problems?

Oh yes, you're not alone. Since having my little boy I weigh about 4 stone heavier than usual! Bare in mind that he is now 2, there's no excuses really. I'm now on a diet but refuse to refuse myself anything if that makes sense, but only in moderation. I've cut out alcohol too as I was having a little drinkie poo most nights also, and can already feel a difference as my tummy isn't as bloated as it was.

Those 'perfect' people don't eat properly and are as miserable as sin, so no fun to be around and half the time live so far up there own backsides that they will ingest themselves someday soon ;D

Celebrities in mags are airbrushed and stretched so don't believe everything that you see in the press either.

Be happy for what you are, and if anyone tells you otherwise '@~$&' them ;D

I'm about 1-2 stone overweight. I don't look fat I just have a little bit more round the rump! I am back at weightwatchers now because I lost the weight and put it back on! I don't lose weight to look skinny I just want to be comfortable and have a healthy BMI. If that means I only get down to a size 12-14 then so be it! Men like a little bit of flesh on their woman anyway! This size zero malarky is just stupid... if your naturally skinny then fine but we have all seen these girls bigger and they looked fab and happy... they all look so sad now.

All I think is gym, pizza, gym, pizza!?

I'm a size 16, and would be happier as a 12/14, but find weight loss harder on my new implant. I used to be a 12/14 but then my scumbag ex came along and I ate myself fat thanks to depression. Oh the joy! I've been fighting the fat ever since, and have gone from a 22 to 16, but I still feel like crap. OH tells me he loves me as I am though. If only I felt the same!

I'm a size 8 on top and 12/14 on bottom, i have trouble losing weight around my bum and legs, i hate the shape of my body I'm thin on top with no chest, tiny waist and huge butt! i got on the scales before and ive been eating too many chocolate biscuits the pounds are going up so i have deicded to try and do that 2 weeks diet thing with kellogs eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast and lunch, and try to not eat bad stuff hopefully i'll lose a bit more,  i can eat healthily its just the excercise thing, it bores me and after 5 mins i really cant be bothered lol

I know exactly how you feel clare. You sent me a picture of you a few weeks ago and i would say opossite to what your saying. Your very attractive and you appeared slim in my eyes. I know i have not met you but by your look, you honestly dont look fat!
I think its just bad days, i get these, but not all the time. But believe me your not fat at all. Hugs!

Thanks everyone - I have low self esteem which doesn't help me :-\ Hence why I understand how others feel O0

While I never thought myself fat (just a bit more "cushioned" around the tummy and hips / bum than I ought to), there are many things I do not like about my body. For example I always found my legs too short. I love people that seem to have endless legs. I also always thought my knees looked knobbly.

so I would never wear skirts, or short trousers, always long jeans for me. Tight fitting, yes, as I didnt mind my figure, but always covering up my legs. This year valentines day I tried on a denim mini skirt for the very first time, and my boyfriend was sort of half drooling when he saw me in it.

He said I looked gorgeous in it and all of a sudden, when I looked at my legs, I too thought that they didnt look that bad after all.. ::)

So I suppose its all in the head really...

Very true. I am only young and its common with people in my age group to have low self esteem. But i am here whenever you need to talk clare and i certainly know how it feels.

I've had 5 kids and have a mummy tummy which repulses me, from the back I look fine but my tummy is awlful, wish it would drop off , I also have 3 medical conditions which make it harder to lose weight, I'd love to lose 2 stone, I also lack confidence no idea why, could be since i was diagnoised with a few illnesses like arthritas diabetes high blood pressure stomach ulcers lower motore neurone problems in my arm etc etc and tend to rely on hubby a lot thats why i love coming on here no one judges you,

I am 5 foot 6 and a size 14, though I prefer looser tops. I have always felt crap about myself. I was fatter than I am now. I don't want miracles - just to be a 10-12 would be fine. I run three times a wheek, do 120 sit ups three times a wheek and occasionally play squash but, although I am very fit, I find it really hard to shift the weight. This is because as well as being coeilac I have hyperinsulinism. The only way I can lose weight is on Atkins :smitten: I lost one and a half stone in ten wheeks.

Ulrike, you say you think your legs are too short. There is a down side to long legs. I have long legs and find it hard to get jeans that fit. The problem of having long legs is having a very short body which tends to make me look dumpy at the top. ::)

I found that after the 3 kids i've not got the same shape anymore either. For a start i've no bum, it's flat, and i'm 5'3" and all the darned weight is hanging around the middle and my arms UGH.
Just started back on a diet, trying to walk more often....
Sounds like we need a gym where we can all go work out, chat (that's a big must) and have our guineas in a corner and they can all be together :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: oh of course boy and girl sections ;)

Ive been trying to lose weight for my wedding but I am still 5.6 and over 13 stone.

Personally I think my chest weighs about 3 stone all by itself ;D

I havent managed to shift the weight because I am lazy and greedy and my favourite things to do are sit on my ample bottom and eat and drink wine.

I used to really worry about it but I knw that Andy loves me. I was this size when we met and besides you can work miracles with a corset ;)

Aww Clare, you are so pretty and to be honest you're no where as big as you think :)

I have always been a big gal. Sometimes it repulses me when I look at myself :( But it can't be helped.

I can't exercise as I would want, being in the chair. I have PCOS which makes it harder to shift weight, on top of that I am diabetic, and to make it a bit ironic, I hardly eat as it is!

Am only allowed on diets for a couple of weeks at a time sure to having to keep an eye on my blood sugar levels. On the up side (a bit) I have been the same size for a few years now, sometimes my trousers get a bit loose and I tend to 'drop' below a size for a while.

I am not on a diet again till monday and I feel awful in myself for not being able to stay on it. I wish I could :)

Also, hopefully going to go to a gym soon! Cor what a sight that will be!

Everybody is beautiful in their own way..... I know it's cliche but it really is what is on the inside that counts! I'm 23 and have stretch marks from being quite overweight in my teens but I learnt not to care. This is me and I just think I'm lucky that a little but extra fat round my bum is the only thing I have to worry about!

I feel the same - I think most woman dont like something about their body - I HATE my body - my weight goes up and down all the time - my OH says he loves my curves and that makes me feel better but I look in the mirror and honestly dont see what he loves! hehe

I don't think it matter much what type of body you have, women always find something wrong with it. Now I know I'm not "big" per say. I'm 5'6" and about 138 lbs (i'm not sure what a stone is), but I dislike parts of my body. I've got a pudgy belly and love handles, a little chest and a BIG ol butt and thighs. It's hard to find jeans to wear sometimes because they only cover half my butt or they fit my butt and are gynormous around the waist. UGH! I've been going to the gym and eating less and lost about 11 lbs. I know I'll never be satisfied but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

I ignore the models in magazines. I don't know if any of you have watched America's Next Top Model or not, but I had went to school with a girl that was on there and let me tell you, in real life she didn't look as good as the pictures. It's amazing what computers can do these days.

Which top model!? God I love that show but your right it's not that they are pretty naturally they just take good pictures.

It was Jaeda. She was nice and pretty, but I have seen her at her worst and it didn't look anything like those pictures lol

Yeah I remember! If I remember rightly she didn't photo all that great either. I thought she looked far better with short hair though (even though she hated it!)

Oh I loved her short hair, she's already grown it all back out again though. It's just this darn image that the media portrays of how we "should" look even if it's unhealthy
