Hi all.🙋

I have four sows in a 2 x 6 c and c cage, do you think this is big enough for them and could I add another sow to the group?

Hi. A 2x6 is suitable for three sows, so for four it needs to be 2x7. For five it would be 2x8. ABDC907D-446E-43BD-8ECC-97B525A1C724.webp

If you follow the site guide, a 2x5 C&C cage( 15ft square ) is okay for 3 sows. For any additional pig, 2 square feet needs to be added, so a 2x6 C&C is okay for 4 sows. It comes out at 18.3ft square/2ft x 7.2ft. It's too small for 5, however. You'd need to extend the cage if you wanted another piggie as you'd need another square foot.

That's a 2x6ft which is a 2x5 c&c grid so a 2x6 grid should be (=ca 2x7ft) and adequate for 4 sows
Hi what is =CA? Please explain, I have read lots about cage size and been told a ton but I am still very confused about it all.

CA is circa/Approximately. I know there is a lot around on cage size, but The photo I attached is what is given as suitable. They have to have enough space to get away from each other. And remember, by the time you add hides etc, you’re cutting down on the space they have to do their zoomies etc.

Are you able to expand your girls’ cage? PS we love pigtures. You could start a thread in the ‘Introduce yourself’ section and post some pics of your girls there as well.
