Size Of Cage Vs Free Range Time?

Hi

I have 2 boar piggies and I was wondering what's the minimum size cage for 2 boars who get 2 hours free range 2-3 Times a week? I'm finding it difficult to get them out for free range regularly so I want to build a cage large enough so that I would only need to free range them a couple of times a week?
 
Minimum cage size for two boars is 120 but think that is with free time every day.If you have the space c&c would be better.Basically as much space as possible especially if they are only out twice a week
 
i had a 5x2 c+c for my two (male and female), and then attached a run for floor time to it a few times a week at least. it made more sense in the end to do what you are wanting to, so they now have the 5x2 c+c with a 3x2 c+c infront of the that. so basically an 8x2 c+c just arranged differently than normal. it made alot more sense, and then usually one day a week i extend the run for them for extra floor time. so i would build as big a cage as you can fit and then if you're in all day one day, let them have extra. :)
 
Thanks for the replies. The space I have for a c+c cage is L shaped, 5ft x 2ft + 3ft x 2ft. This gives them 16sqft. Is this big enough?
 
My pigs are in 120cm cages, they used to have C&C but to fit the cage it had to be "shoved" in the spare bedroom where there was no tv nothing so it wasnt that nice spending time with them. Now they're in a smaller cage in the living room they get way more attention and they're much more of a joy to keep they are out for cuddles daily (Norbert likes coronation street!) and whilst they havent had floor time in a week (building work there is nowhere safe) they dont seem remotely frustrated with each other. Normally they get out a few times a week in a room that is 14x12ft so its quite a run and after about half an hour they curl up in the cosies I leave on the floor for them :-) I would say it definitely depends on the pigs what they need and what they enjoy, George RIP would run laps for about an hour and wheek and popcorn all the time, Peppa would find a corner to hide in and not move. Peppa now lives with a young boar Norbert and they both dont really do floor time the way some of my previous piggies have, they get it offered but sleep and food are higher up on their list of priorities :-)
 
I think 20sqf is the minimum for 2 pigs, more would be better.

especially if they have a little free range time .

My 3 use their 193sqf completely
