Hi we are going to build our own run for our guinea pigs to go out on the grass. How big should a run be for 2 guinea pig. Have 2 female and 2 male guinea pigs (housed separate from each other) so looking to build 2 runs, do the males run need to be bigger than females run. Thank you for any advice given

The recommended minimum (rspca) for housing is 4ftx2ft, the same would apply to a run and hides should be provided so they can take cover and be shaded from the sun. Ideally for boars 5ftx2ft is best but if they are well bonded then another 4ft run would be sufficient if it's only for part time use.

I have 3 runs a grassed area attached to their shed 5ft x 4ft, a portable one 4ft x 3.5ft and a small triangle run 3ft x 2ft I find all these adequate apart from the triangle which I will only put 2 in for a short period time whilst cleaning hutch.

the 2 males have grown up together since birth and are currently 3 months old and seem to be getting on ok. So think I will go for 4 ftx 2 ft. Thanks for your help
