Some of you may have seen in another thread that I am looking for indoors winter solutions for my pigs. I have a space of 122cm by 30cm. It's the perfect space for a shop bought 120cm cage, but if I can have a C&C cage I'd love the flexibility it would bring- ie I could build a second level. I know a 3x2 C&C would be too small for 2 pigs, but I can't fit a traditional 4x2 one in the space. I've seen some people buying storage cubes (for shoes) and using as the grids. Can anyone tell me if there is a set of these which I could use to form a 120cm long cage?

You could overlap the traditional grids a bit to fit in. If they are securely fixed together with cable ties they should stay upright. The traditional c&c grids measure 36cms x 36cms, without the plastic joining clips. Or how about having a 120 cage attached to a removable run so they can access extra space during the day?
good luck finding a workable solution x

That's a good suggestion- overlapping the grids. Thanks! Has anyone else tried this?

Have a browse through all the photos on the above link to another section of the forum. Some clever and inventive ideas for piggy accommodation amongst them! Sometimes home-made enclosures work well in a restricted space and I think there are a few examples of overlapped grids in there somewhere!

i was going to say the same about overlapping the grids - i tried it with some spare grids i have to see if it would be stable enough and it seemed fine :)
