Is it ok to keep just one piggie and if so what can i do to keep him active and not bored.

A lot of people here (and me too) would say that it's always best to keep piggies in pairs. They are highly sociable animals and need to be with their own kind.
I had a lone piggie for about 7 months. He was (still is!) kept in our living room and was given lots and lots of attention, and was generally spoiled to bits. I bought just about every toy/chewing block going for him and rotated them in his cage so he always had something new to look at. I thought I would be okay with this, but as time went on I felt I wasn't doing the right thing for him, and so we got Pigpig.
I don't think it's a question of him getting bored, but denying him socialising with his own. I really did try to have a lone pig, and I just couldn't do it. He's happier with his cagemate, which means I'm happier. There's nothing nicer or funnier than watching 2 pigs interact, and you as the owner get the most of your happy pets.
I know you asked about bonding a baby boar in another thread, and I think I posted my cage set-up in the same thread. I know it's easy to be put off trying bonding with all the warnings and failure stories, but I really do think it would be best to try.
Good luck with whatever you decide

With older piggies I think they can get along without another piggy, I have a 5yr old who has had 2 partners both gone (RIP) and now Pookie prefers to live the quiet life alone and enjoy the whole cage to himself. But I agree that they do need the chance to have a friend. When I watch my pair together I can see how differently they behave compared to only piggies........
So I would try, but don't worry if it doesn't work out!
Good luck!
