Our Girl has been having bloat gi issues for a couple weeks now, we've been giving Her Critical Care feedings everyday but She is still very lethargic, is not eating much hay, losing weight daily, and is not happy when Her belly is touched for massages. Our vet told us to give Her some drops they contain Simethicone and after doing some reading on here there seems to be a lot of people that advise against that. Just don't know what to do at this point, I would give Her the drops if I thought it would help very worried about side effects. She still enjoys Her pellets and is very talkative when i give them but was thinking of not giving any for a day to see if She'll eat more hay. She is on Metacam and we give Her some Pedialyte occasionally to prevent dehydration. Any help is appreciated, thanks

I’m sorry to hear this.
If she is losing weight you need to syringe feed her more. You are looking at needing to give around a minimum of 60 but could be around 100ml per day.
How much syringe feed are you getting into her?

What medications is she on? You’d be looking at her being on cisapride or emeprid.
Simethicone isn’t recommended and to be honest infant colic drops won’t do much if her bloat is anything but very mild.

How much metacam is she on?

Hi

You may find our guides helpful:
All About Syringe Feeding and Medicating Guinea Pigs with Videos and Pictures (Contains a list of gut meds for guinea pigs - it is unfortunately very limited)
Digestive Disorders: Not Eating - Diarrhea - Bloat - GI Stasis (No Gut Movement)

What we cannot tell you is whether your piggies are caused by dysbiosis (the overgrowth of the wrong kind of bacteria in the gut) or whether the symptoms are secondary and caused by pain radiating into/pressure on the gut.

She is only on the Metacam, I talked to our vet about gut stimulants but said they don't do well with the species, is that wrong. We'll try and up Her syringe feedings, probably getting around 40-50ml right now. She is very squirmy so it's hard to give Her a lot at one time

Ok so if she is losing weight then the amount she is getting is definitely not enough. Ideally she needs 60ml or more. Try giving her little and often but it depends how much she will take at each sitting - the less she takes the more times you’ll need to try to feed her.

Being given emeprid or cisapride is a standard medication for the issues your piggy is having.
