Hi I was just looking for some advice. I am currently caring for a male guinea pig (about 3 years old) whilst his owner finds a new house. He's lovely and very good natured and I have placed him in a roomy hutch near my guinea pigs, Mavis and Bubbles.

They aren't placed together as we don't want babies ever and he only came to me last night. I thought that If I put the hutches near each other they would be able to talk to each other and keep each other company.

I'm just a bit concerned as he doesn't seem to make a sound, not even for veggies!
When my parents looked after him the previous evening they said that he was a really noisy piggy, so I know that he hasn't lost his voice

He's eating well and I'm taking him to the vets on Thursday for a check up, I have just never known such a silent piggie before.

He is still settling in and will be nervous. Do not worry as I am sure he will learn to wheek once he is used to you.

He may feel a little nervous as he's out of his usual surroundings. As long as he seems otherwise fine then I wouldn't worry. Some piggies are just more vocal than others.

He's been a bit more vocal today, but still quiet compared to my piggies. Maybe I just have very noisy piggies?!

I hope so, he's looking a bit sad on his own and hasn't quite mastered the second storey ramp yet.
I also noticed today that he's got a large lump possibly cyst on near his back leg which he might feel down in the dumps about.
We have a vet appointment on Thursday, so hopefully whatever it is will be sorted out for him.
