Ive only had Dylan a week, so maybe I'm just over reacting, but I haven't heard any noises from him. No weeks, squeeks, shrieks, purs, chatters...anything. Good or bad!

He rushes out of his little house when I speak to him because he knows he's getting some veggies, but my previous boys would get so excited at meal times. Is this little fella more laid back? Does anyone else have a quiet pig? I hope this doesn't sound daft but is he sad?

Some piggies can be very quiet by nature, especially if they are on their own. Young piggies are usually much more vocal than adults, but a lot is down to individual personality and what kind of human interaction/background they have had before they come to you.

Bless him. I've got big plans in the form of a c and c hopefully this week and a friend in the future, so maybe these changes will help. If he's a quiet pig then as long as he's happy I'm happy!

My boys are generally very quiet with an extremely laid back nature. They will wheek from time to time particularly on the run up to veggie time but it took them a few weeks to settle in before they felt confident enough to make any noise around me. Give it time and I'm sure he'll start making some noise once he feels comfortable with you :)

I wouldn't worry - Pecan is extremely quiet not a peep and Maple is the same - Those two do the odd rumblestrut and thats about it.
Rambo, Patch and Lucky... completely different story. Never heard three guinea pigs make so much noise. It tends to be Rambo who starts off Patch or vise versa and then it sets Lucky off!

Whenever me or the OH goes out to the Shed you can hear Rambo at the back doors!

Try not to worry too much. Pigs vary very much in how vocal they are. Much like humans you get some who beg for constant attention, some who are happy to chatter to themselves all day( like my Edward- who tells off his coseys) or some who are just generally a little shy.
I found that Rosie who had been living on her own for 2 years after her friend died, became much more vocal even wheeking with Esme (my little attention seeker) when she made 3 new friends.
My current two girls are very inbetween, they don't wheek for attention, or for food but cluck when they are wandering round almost constantly. :)

Don't worry. I have four pigs. Three of which are quiet and don't make a wheek. Then the fourth one, he loves to wheek if he knows its time and I'm late and then he bar chews. He's taught the other 3 to bar chew so there's four type writers going on at once when it is food time. Be thankful he's quiet. You could have four type writers :))

Four type writers! That made me laugh! :D

Thanks everyone for your comments. I won't worry he's quiet anymore! He chatters to himself when he's on his floor time so he's not totally silent
