so after struggling with stomach issues and many intolerances for years, I finally got a diagnosis other that IBS!
after a positive lactulose breath test, I was told I have SIBO- small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. Treatment seems to be trying an antibiotic (not a guaranteed fix) and then being careful with diet, mainly sticking to a low-fodmap diet. I have tried this diet a few times with barely any results but hopefully after the antibiotic, it'll work better.
I don't know anyone else with SIBO and its a very little-known condition so I wanted to know if anyone else here knows about it/has experience with it?
I'm still very confused about exactly how to manage it and what exactly the low-fodmap diet has to do with it and unfortunately every website I check has a different opinion.
any advice would be greatly appreciated and its also always nice to know you're not the only one ❤️

(also for those of you struggling with IBS I highly recommend testing for sibo if you haven't already as 80% of people who are diagnosed with IBS are misdiagnosed and really have sibo)

I pleased you now have the correct diagnosis. I don’t have any experience of this but I really hope the diet and medication work. I hope you are soon feeling much better.
