Shredded paper as bedding?

Ive ran out of woodshavings and some odd reason no pet store or countrywide near me has any instock :@

However I have plenty of confetti style shredded paper from the shredder is it ok to use this or can the paper cut the piggies lil feeties?
or should I just dumpster dive into the recycling bin and recover the newspapers and rip them up?

Just newspapers and hay would be ok temporarily until you can get some wooddhavings or if you have any old towels or fleeces, these would be even better.

Shredded paper is ok but soaks up all of the wee and gets wet, messy and smelly very quickly,
