Shredded newspaper?

Hi all,

Just wondered whether it was safe for piggies to climb around/play in a box of shredded newspaper or whether the dye on it could be dangerous?

The girls don't seem like chewers, obviously they eat hay and food but I've got cardboard boxes in with them which they aren't chewing at all.

They wont chew cardboard boxes? Are you sure they are guinea pig's?

Mine destroy cardboard boxes.

How about primark bags stuffed with hay?

I know they are very unusual, I used to have chinchilla's and they chewed anything within half a mile so it is very strange the girls aren't chewers!

I only asked about newspaper as my mum has passed on a big pile of papers, I use newspaper to line their litter tray, but didn't know if they could play in it?
